Reverend Barron O. Wilson

Reverend Barron O. Wilson is a “God-fearing preacher of the Gospel.” He was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, and is the third son of Pastor W. W. Wilson and Evangelist Ethel Wilson.

Willingly accepting the call to ministry, he allowed Biblical truths to lead and guide him. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one despise your youth; but be an example to the believers in the word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” In 1990, he became the youngest Pastor in the state of New Jersey and served as Pastor of the Union Baptist Church of South River, NJ for ten years. Being obedient to the will of God, in 2000 he succeeded his father and became the Pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Jersey City, NJ  where he served for fifteen years. In 2016, after being led by the Lord he returned to the Union Baptist Church, South River, NJ and after serving as Pastor for two years he was called to the First Baptist Church-Gainsboro, Roanoke, VA where he served as Pastor for four years. In 2023, God, in his infinite wisdom called him to shepherd the Second Missionary  Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida where he serves as Senior Pastor.

In May 2016, he graduated with a certificate in Christian Ministry from the New York Theological  Seminary, New York, NY through independent studies. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor in Pastoral Counseling from Veritas Baptist College, Lawrenceburg, IN. He has acquired many achievements along his journey; his compassion for others led him to organize “Treasures of Truth”  Community Development Corp, a non-profit faith/community-based organization that assists needy families. He is also the founder of B.O. Wilson Ministries, a former Financial Secretary of the  United Missionary Baptist State Convention of New Jersey, and a past President of the Quarterly  Union for the Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Association, Newark, NJ. He authored his first devotional book “From Principle to Practice” which was released in April 2019.

Rev. Wilson is most proud of his greatest accomplishment and commitment: In 2002, he was united before God with the apple of his eye, the former Tamica M. Chisolm. They  are the proud parents of one daughter, Brielle L. Wilson.

As Shepherd, Pastor, Preacher, and Teacher, he instills sound doctrine and spiritual principles. His  vision is: "By preaching Christ, teaching the saved, and reaching the lost, we will impact the church to manifest its mission, and as a result, we will develop a holistic relationship with Jesus Christ."
Reverend Wilson personifies Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”. He is a servant of the most high God and his love, compassion, and heart for God and God’s people has kept him grounded and in constant pursuit of God’s will.
His Motto: The greatest thing a man can know, is the will of God; the greatest thing a man can do, is the will of God; the safest place a man can be, is in the will of God; and the most dangerous place a man can be, is out of the will of God.
